The Dutch House
Located on a small hill about 15 minutes from the Galle Fort, the Dutch House, built in 1712, was once the residence of a prosperous Dutch spice merchant. Converted into a boutique hotel it has four very large, tastefully decorated, high ceilinged rooms that open onto a covered verandah, a large lawn and lush garden. The rooms are furnished with well-chosen antique and modern furniture. At a lower level of the garden is an infinity pools that looks over the forest below. If you want to be pampered and have some peace and quiet to relax then this is the place for you - truly paradise.
The service all around is excellent and the food is delicious. Breakfast and lunch served on site. Dinner is served at the sister property next door. The Sri Lankan breakfast is delicious. Because of the various antiques around the property guests must be over 14 years of age.
